The Seattle Fire Department will open an entry-level Firefighter application period starting October 7, 2025
Our next entry-level Firefighter application period will open on October 7, 2025, and we will accept applications through November 25, 2025.
The register created through this application period and testing process will be published in March 2026, and the first class hired from the new register will begin in August 2026. The register will be good for one year and we anticipate hiring two recruit classes from it. More information on our hiring process can be found here: Hiring Process.
Although the application period is still a month away, candidates should take the time now to begin preparing for the testing and oral board process. We will also be hosting an in-person Fire Connect session on September 27 from 10am to 12pm at Station 32. All job seekers are welcome to attend.
