Seattle Firefighter/EMT applications are open for the 2026 hiring cycle
Seattle Fire Department is accepting applications for entry-level Firefighter/EMT positions from October 6 through November 17, 2026.
Key dates
- Application period: October 6–November 17, 2026
- NTN/FireTEAM exam window: October 6–November 24, 2026
- In-person oral boards: January 20–30, 2027
- Expected hiring register: March 2027
- First recruit class from the new register: August 2027
Seattle Fire says applicants must meet its minimum qualifications, including being at least 18, having a high school diploma or GED, holding a valid driver’s license, and being able to communicate in English. EMT certification is not required to apply, but it is required for hire.
