Topics will include Building Construction, Water Mapping, Fire Behavior, Ventilation, Search, along with Basement and Attic Fires. Two units will attend each day at each site.

·        Dates: June 5, 2023 – September 29, 2023

·        Time: 0830 – 1730 hours

·        Locations: Magnuson Park Buildings 406 and 30, and the JTF

The UL Boot Camp is a grant funded Training Program. Overtime/backfill will be provided for members attending the class. Overtime Members will be hired to backfill for members attending the 10-hour class with the goal of keeping units in service. Hiring will be coordinated through STAFF 10 in Orion. When backfill is insufficient to meet needs, units will be placed out-of-service to attend the class.

Each location will have two spots set aside for Medics and Admin personnel. The UL Bootcamp grant includes funding for overtime/backfill for Admin and Battalion 3 members as required.

Division Supervisors for Operations members assigned to an administrative position and Battalion 3 will be responsible for coordinating their assigned members’ attendance. The Training Division will be sending out a sign-up poll to Supervisors on May 15,2023.

Make-ups for the UL Boot Camp will take place in November 2023.

The UL Boot Camp will provide light refreshments for breakfast and a catered lunch from local businesses.

Questions regarding the UL Boot Camp may be directed to Battalion Chief Jared Fields, Operations Training Chief, at (206) 615-1474 or Jared.Fields@seattle.gov.
